Both the Rider-Waite-Smith and the Modern Witch Tarot-Knight of Cups, are again focused on the more mundane characteristics of this Personality. The winged helm , on the Rider-Waite- Smith Knight suggests the Eagle of Higher Scorpio (Scorpio has three images, scorpion, serpent and eagle. The lowest being scorpion) and the languid river suggests water, the element of the card. The Knight is holding a cup before him/her and is riding at an easy pace. On the Rider-Waite- Smith Card, the slightest hint of his passionate- fiery nature may be seen in the red flowers of his Surcoat and the sun baked hills in the back ground. The river flowing through the scoured landscape may imply that the river/or consciousness, is not always languid and may be subject to violent overflows.

The Modern Witch Knight of Cups, holds in front of herself the rose colored cup that symbolizes the cup of love and passion, while a lazy river runs through the landscape, water being the Universal element of this card. Hence, the Knight is a very charming, emotional, and romantic young person who loves to be the center of attention. She can be very delightful with a group of people, as she is a sparkling personality, who can be very diplomatic and witty. Since she receives a great deal of attention and is often pursued, she is fully concentrating on the cup; Therefore, she tends to be self-centered and can be superficial in her interactions as she is constantly looking for those new feelings of love and romantic passions.

S/he is known to give very little of her/himself, which ironically is part of their attraction. This ability to be detached from others, is often used in the Knight's advantage, which can also make such a personality quite thoughtless about other peoples sensitive feelings. S/he really is a master of emotional manipulation. Rather than be ruled by emotion, s/he can focus emotional power, making this knight charming, diplomatic and sought after, as s/he stimulates emotions in others.
