The Rider-Waite/Gold Foil Page of Pentacles is the comparable card to the Thoth Princess of Disks (see Thoth blogs). Since Waite held to his lodge oath not to "profane" the Ancient Mysteries by offering the western mysteries to the public, he chooses the traditional effeminate medieval Page image for his card. This is a card of androgynous characters and does not depict gender. Rather, it shows nothing of great occult import. His figure holds a Pentacle up, with intent gaze, while standing on fertile land. This depicts the Earth element (Pentacle) fertile in the Sun, as if it is Spring in full bloom. The page is dressed in the greens and browns of the earth element. The divination meaning of this card is: Application, study scholarship, reflection, and bringer of messages.

In the Tarot of the Old Path, we see a dark haired, dark eyed youth, dressed in the greens of the earth element. In his right hand is a fuchsia, which in the language of flowers indicates good taste. His left hand draws attention to the Pentacle on his shirt front. He seems self-confident with his dark meditative eyes and a thoughtful gaze.

The Tarot of the Old Path- Page of Pentacles depicts a true loner. The Page of Pentacles is a very isolated, and introspective young person who is steady, ambitious, thorough, scholarly, and quite competent at work. Although the page is self-controlled, tactful, and reserved, s/he can be very selfish in attaining personal goals. In a position of authority, s/he can quickly alienate subordinates with harsh demands and by showing little interest in ideas or feelings. Therefore, s/he knows s/he is not well liked but fails to blame themself for this. This Princess personality tends to judge everything in polar terms, has little tolerance for ambiguity, and wants situations clearly defined. The Page personality may show interest in sporting events but find the arts to be boring. S/he spends long hours at work, which allows the page to avoid the social life of personal interaction. Hence, s/he has few friends and is often depressed and lonely but hides vulnerabilities well. Because s/he is afraid of closeness, most people perceive the page personality to be unaffectionate and unfeeling.; However, the Page of Pentacles personality is truly focused on goals and his or her drive and/or determination excludes others. Hence, this personality enjoys studying more than socializing.

This is the Lady of Rebirth and Renewal and to understand the Depth of the Ultimate Womb---is to meditate long and hard on this card, and to read the Goddess Myths with the eye (I) of the soul. In this world, where love is a profit-sharing endeavor, it is hard for most of us to believe that "Love built Me to be Itself"----Love is I AM Now and fears no future. The goddess is Love and the truth is, " Creation is Love" and we are the image of Love made manifest by the Womb/Understanding of the Goddess aspect of the Divine Creative! We are "Understood" into manifestation!
